Day three-part 1: 28 Oct 2010: Taipei Zoo, MaoKong gondola, Din Tai Fung

Nov 11, 2010 11:11

I decide to split day 3 of my Taipei trip cause it's getting too long plus Din Tai Fung makes me sad...

Day three: 28 October 2010
Weather: Scatter showers

We woke up early and decided to try somewhere else for breakfast, hoping to find some food near theMRT/ Ximendeng. However most of the shops are not open (Y_Y) sorry Chris

So we have MacDonald breakfast, bagel set + egg muffin buger, I forgot the exact price but it's around S$2.50?

Ximendeng mrt exit 6

Help!!

Love how Taiwan people line up and follow the markings =D

We are going to Taipei zoo via the blue line, I thought we need to change train at Taipei Main station but the correct place is at Zhongxiao Fuxing oTL

scenery on Train from Zhongxiao Fuxing to Taipei zoo, the train is like a LRT .

Taipei Zoo! admission fee is NT65/ S$2.70. YES, S$2.70

some animals while we are on the way to...

Panda house!

School kids on excursion!

While we are there, a school teacher was trying to hurry the students, "We have 5 minutes to see the Panda, move on after you see them."(smirk at boyfriend)

Some of my better shots, most of the photos are blur. It's my first time seeing a real Panda and they are HUGE! So furry! but why is the backside grey =p have a fuzzy feeling in my heart while looking at the panda (>w<)

Our itinerary is quite pack so we left the zoo after just viewing the pandas XD It was raining as we walk into the mrt for another exit towards Maokong gondola

There are concave mirrors at the mrt This is my real height =p

It's quite a long walk from the mrt to the maokong gondola

My boyfriend wanted to try this icecream but I was whining noooo, it's nt$85/ S$3.60 same price in Singapore and we certainly can't bring food inside the cable car but but but IT TASTE SO SHIOK! The green tea blend so well with the vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips inside

Of course the staff stop us and ask us to finish the ice cream . While enjoying the last bit of the ice cone cone, the staff came running towards us and say, "If you guys hurry, there's a transparent one"

I didn't see anything transparent so I thought we have miss it after all

.... or maybe not ... ARGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!

I decide to skip all of my photos inside the cable car as it's raining and most pictures cmi |||oTL

beautiful scenery on the mountain

love the retro looking buildings XD

love the name of this cafe but it's closed.

pass by the temple, we keep complaining, "Why do we do this to ourselves!?" |||oTL our aching muscles from yesterday mountain climbing protest too

and we finally reach! A small museum with exhibits on how tea leaves is made

fish feed at NT$10/ S$0.40

can you see how freaking long is the journey from station to tea culture museum.
Actually the museum is really small and nothing to see, not really worth to walk all that distance just for museum >=p

we return to the busier part of street and have warm tea (I think the price is NT$300/S$12?) the staff are really friendly, have small chat with us and even show us how to make the tea. There's this old grandma who was shock when we have to go as this pot of tea can be brew up to 8 times (we only drink 2-3 times)

Taipei 101 in the distance

bye bye maokong!

went to a shop below to buy souvenirs

more school kids!!! =d~~~~

We went back to Zhongxiao Fuxing mrt and head for Department store for....
