After two years, I finally made it back to the dentist. I hate going to the dentist. I would much rather go to the gyno than hold my mouth open and have gritty shit spread all over my teeth. I feel like I'm burning out on my job already. I've been told by numerous nurses that it will take a good year to feel comfortable. I don't want to wait a year. I want to feel fully comfortable now. Is it time to retire yet?
I trained with the HUC today so I didn't have any patients. Yet, I feel exhausted. I'm glad I didn't have any patients because they were a crazy group. I spent the day answering the phone, putting orders in, and answering the call light. I am slowly growing to hate that thing. Earlier today, my dad insisted that we drive past my apartments and see where the road would take us. I had never been past the apartments and I was curious as to what we would see. Wow. I can't believe everything that has happened in the past week. So many changes have taken place in such a short time. I'm not sure where to begin. I guess I'll just break it down.
Work:
My job comes easier to me with each day. I have finally got comfortable with the IV pumps after trial and error. Now don't go thinking, this is unsafe. ( Read more... ) -

Birds has made the tough decision to put Cody down next week. :( He's not doing well at all. When Doug was watching him, he managed to fall down the basement stairs and Doug had to carry him back up. I came out to Pennsylvania to see him one last time. I know that it's a long drive, but it's worth it for a pet you love so much. -

I spent the morning with IV therapy. I thought I would follow around some lady and go around to wherever she was needed. It didn't work like that. Instead, I was taught how to insert an IV catheter by using a rubber arm. Then she took me down to the pre-op area and had me start IVs on actual people. I was like, holy shit! Laura and I are currently in the process of moving from our Ohio apartment to our Kentucky apartment. It has been a very long week. Between moving and starting on my new floor at work, I need a night of boozing it up. Or maybe I just need to sleep.
