Kim's Recipe Box - Strawberries and Dumplings - June 24, 2009

Yesterday I had just about had it with the rain. I wanted comfort food but something summery. I took my very first trip to the Dedham Square Farmers Market and picked up some delicious strawberries. I went home and made Strawberries and Dumplings based on the smitten kitchen recipe here.

So yummy and exactly what I wanted!

Those look great! How long did they take to make?

I was in a comfort mood yesterday, too. For dinner I made bean and cheese enchiladas mole.

Well to bubble down the strawberries it was quick...10-15 minutes?

Since I am a dumpling newb I wasn't so sure what they would look like when done. Apparently they stay a little gummy on the outside but are soft on the inside so those took like 30 minutes maybe.

Oh, that also sounds so yummy.
