Well, it's finally here! John & I leave for our cross country road trip tonight after work!

We started organizing and saving for this trip 6 months ago. I know people poke fun because we're such planners but with something like this I'm so glad we put all this time in to it. Our itinerary looks amazing, we're doing everything we want to and stopping ( Read more... )

I've always been a potato girl. Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew. I can't get enough. I recently had my first butter braised baby yukon gold potatoes at Fore Street in Portland, ME when John and I went up for Valentine's Day this year. I'd been meaning to find a recipe and finally have!

We went to Party Favors in Brookline last night to try their carrot cake with cream cheese filling and their chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse filling. They were delicious! We look through their big books ( Read more... )

We headed out to Wayland to check out the winter farmer's market on Saturday. It was held in the Russell Garden Center.

Ever since our Indian Cooking Class at the BCAE in December, I've been craving Indian food nonstop. I got to test out my recipes at home a few weeks ago when Mel and Fraley came over for food and football. I thought to bring something homemade over to my grandparent's house last minute. As I do when I want to make something delicious, I searched smitten kitchen's site for the most abundant ingredient in the house: apples.

Immediately I had my answer: Gingerbread Apple Upside Down Cake

Need I say more? The cake is warm, perfectly spiced, and delicious.
