A Good Start

I like this; but I also don't think of happiness as some kind of reward to be won. It shouldn't be the hopeful result of a Sisyphean effort.

It should be your natural resting point or your center of gravity. Your stasis.

Sure, there are days when you're overwhelmed, upset, exhausted, frustrated, or even outright angry with what's going on in your life, but underneath it all, be happy with who you are and where your life is - not compared to some point on a "fulfillment scale", or measured against the lives of your friends or acquaintances (or god forbid, some celebrity you don't even know).

I do love your bolded sentence above: participate relentlessly in the manifestations of YOUR OWN blessings. You've already got everything you need to know happiness. Denying it with negativity is throwing away all the good you've got.

I agree but I do believe it takes hard work to get there and maintaining it over long periods of time can be hard won.

Right, your own blessings on a scale of your own happiness in your own life. I don't do the comparative game. That's too sink or swim for my liking.
