So far in 2010 I've made homemade bread every single week (if not twice a week) and made cheese from scratch (thanks to Mel).

it's the same tomatoes, half a stick of butter, and an onion cut in half. (+salt to taste, and i couldn't behave and threw in a couple smashed garlic cloves too :p)
but you just throw it all in a pot and let it simmer for 45 minutes. at the end you remove the onion (i ate it!) and that's it. so good.
