Anything that might desert you, so it cannot hurt you

Some questions from mistoffo as part of a meme.

You're living (mostly) alone now for the first time that I'm aware of. What impact has an adulthood of living with friends had on you?Well, it's allowed me to be pretty irresponsible with money. Outside that, it's afforded me a lot of opportunities to ( Read more... )

I'm guessing you've seen Shallow Grave, if you haven't you probably should.

Yeah, I'll have to look that one up.

Horror/thriller is a strange genre mix. The closest things I can think of that I've watched are maybe Eating Raoul, Scotland, PA and, depending upon what you see as humorous Ravenous

Edit: I mean Comedy/Thriller, of course

If you're continuing the meme, I'd answer some questions from you.

For you Chad, I can think of some questions.

Professional: You have interests that lie in the direction of aeronautics, programming and generally being hardcore. Is Lockheed still scratching the itch for you, or do you sometimes dream of the greener pastures of sport emu wrestling or pro base jumping?

Technical: You're a Gentoo Linux devotee from back in the day. What's kept you coming back, have you experimented with other distros and do you have any thoughts on Sun's OpenSolaris community?

Social, part 1: Do you ever feel the need to be alone (as opposed to simply finding yourself alone sometimes,) and if so, where is your favorite place to be alone?

Social, part 2: You're a really confident, self-aware, comfortable guy; are there social situations that make you uncomfortable in your own skin? I'm not necessarily taking about specific times you've embarrassed yourself, but rather classes of social interaction that are always lumpy or uncomfortable for you.

Cop-out: When are we going to shoot some stick? Because, man... pool.

Professional: I enjoy challenges. That's most of the reason why I rock climb and mountain bike, along with the opportunity to be outdoors. As long as Lockheed continues to challenge me, I should be fine here. It's the first place I've worked where I wasn't the smartest guy doing my job, so there's some potential. Generally, I don't do risky things for risk's sake. I'll never BASE jump because it's stupid. There's just too much chance for a gust of wind or a less than perfect parachute deployment to get you dead. That's not my bag, baby ( ... )

That's not to say that I wouldn't be able to sneak away for a few hours some weekend, I just don't see me having a large block of free time for a while. Give me a call sometime that you're free and I'll see if I can carve out some time.

Sometimes I like question games, if you are playing.

Philosophical: You are, no doubt, aware of Abraham Maslow's theory of the Peak Experience; have you had any experiences that you would describe as Peak experiences?

Artistic: Describe briefly your ideal living space, giving whatever attention you deem appropriate to dimensions and specific locations.

Megalomania: Do you have any hobbies or practices that you think everyone that has the means should engage in? Why or why not?

General: What kind of music are you into lately?

I'm only asking four. So there.

Why its gotta be racial? tarq June 3 2008, 18:18:17 UTC
But... but... you're bleck!

I won't force you to do questions for me unless you really, passionately want to.

I just keep reading that subject line as "Why its gotta be radical?"

Ok, how about one big question:

You have, over the course of time that I've known you, gone through a number of spiritual, philosophical and religious revolutions which have almost certainly changed the way that you see the world; how have these changes in core philosophy affected your interpretation of the eight tenets of Isshin-Ryu? How do you reconcile your spiritual and philosophical views with the tenets themselves?

Psycological, Part 1: Do you have a favorite color/color scheme? Did you have one as a child? If you've never had any preference... um, I don't know. How is that even possible? Colors are fascinating!

Psycological, Part 2: If you had to live as a (non-human) animal for two years, what would you choose and why? Assume things like lifespan wouldn't present logistic issues with being something like a fruitfly or mosquito.

Megalomania: If you had a say in K-12 education standards on a national level, what would you want to add to the curriculum? What would you want to remove?

Transcendent: What change to society, large or small, would you like to see come about as a result of the way in which you live your life? What are you doing to make this happen?

I just realized I managed to misspell 'psychological' twice in the comment
