Thank you, Piers Anthony, for teaching me words like lacuna, jot, tittle, flotsam, jetsam, hiatus, mare, imbrium, masticate... the list goes on and on. Really. I had no idea I would ever use them or need to know them, but they've turned out surprisingly helpful.

Also in the realm of the amusing, I realized that one of my new kanji looks strangely familiar.

I was looking over my Stats homework and found an equation that starts with

SEx-bar

Which of course made me giggle.

And SE means standard error and x-bar refers to an average...

This in my mind translates to "On average, sex is a standard error."

Nice.
