I'm already enjoying your Arthur and Merlin voices in this story and the shift from lighthearted to ominous was very well handled here. The picture you painted of the aftermath of that obviously heated pillow fight had me grinning.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Uther and Arthur handle this demand.

Sorry for the delay in posting! Computer issues combined with classes restarting and all that fun stuff. Thank you so much for all the comments thus far, it really means a lot to me <3It was more out of routine than any true attention to detail that Arthur made his way back to his chambers. His mind was thoroughly absorbed in the revelations the short meeting had brought: it was still hard to believe that the entire patrol, all good men with lives and futures, was slaughtered on a whim -- and that that same whim now demanded his kingdom turn over another person. He had never heard of this Emrys before, and though he tried to convince himself that surely the man couldn’t be entirely innocent (why else would they have demanded him, if not for revenge or some other form of personal gain?), he still could not stomach the idea of knowingly leaving the fate of one of his people to murderers. He was Crown Prince: it was his duty to look after the citizens of Camelot
