I would report her to HR for starts. I don't think they can force you to work if it interferes with your family situation. The best thing for you to have done was left work when the last train or bus stopped running to your center's area and pleaded no other alternative to your HR dept. I don't think that they could have done much to you if you had handled it that way.

Fedex has the absolute worse managers in the retail world. It is like that take every Target reject and give them a center to run. I wish you well!

part of the problem was she had hr in her back pocket. she told me that she had already spoke to hr regard my situation and they agreed that if i couldn't work her schedule there would have been documentation and then fired. also my dm was in on it as well. i was told i should talk to unemployment about this since i was forced to quit.

Work anywhere else! I have been telling you this for over 2 years...and I cannot believe that you didn't just quit long ago. Your ex-manager is a dope, and you should've known long ago that it would come to this.

Fedex is not the be-all end-all of jobs. In fact, i guarantee you that you'll find another job, close to where you live, within a week if you PUT YOUR MIND INTO FINDING ONE.

I'm not trying to make you feel bad, but seriously...if you drove 3 hours to get there each day...for a shit $11 an hour job...I'm not sure who the fool is here. You or your ex-manager? Anywhere, including McDonald's in better than F-Off...and I guarantee you there is a McDonalds hiring within 1/2 mile from where you are staying now...and they will put you on whatever shifts you can work.

Good luck in the future and don't make the mistake of staying somewhere longer than you should ever again.

thanks for the support. i have already been applying almost everyday for a new job. i have interviewed at one place and have another interview for next week. i am so much happier now that i have left. the one i already interviewed for said that they could have me working withing the next week or two. i do plan on going back there after i have my new job just to laugh at her. she is so pathetic. she never really does the job that she was hired to do. she can't do shipping or production. so why is she still there? i tried to call ea and they weren't any hellp.

She is a typical useless manager at Fedex-Office. I haven't seen many that can do production. I am, and always have been, disappointed with management at this company.

I think the fact that she told you that HR knew what was going on was a lie. HR only takes what each side says and determines who is at fault according to state employment laws. I think that is illegal to tell an employee they cannot contact HR. I think HR is suppose to be there for everyone. Sounds to me if you pressed it that you could collect unemployment until you find a job especially if you tell them word-for-word what your dumbass manager said about contacting HR. I think you should write HR and tell them what she said to you as it might get her written up.

Good luck!

Remember any jobs posted in Michigan you have to shave your head to qualify for.

Good luck! Just remember, no one who has left F-Off has ever regretted it.
