i am 100% pro-breastfeeding and a huge supporter of nursing whenever your baby is hungry or needs comforting, no matter where you are, but for goodness sake, your WHOLE boob doesn't have to be flopped out of your shirt

I used to work at an amusement park. Some nursing mothers would take their shirts off to nurse. I thought it was fine, but some people were actually offended. They eventually built a "momma's house" to try to contain it.

I'm with you, seriously if I can be discreet with my unwieldy sweater puppets I'm pretty sure other people can be too.

I'm super discreet with nursing, most of the time it just looks like I'm cuddling the baby. And I dress modestly for religious reasons, this includes covering my boobs all the time...Most women in my neighborhood use hooter hiders or bottle feed in public. In the last week or so, I've seen two women nursing in public with their whole boob flopped out the top of their shirts and I thought, "That's so nice to see a breast expoed to be doing what it was made to do, instead of sell something." In NY, I feel so inundated with advertising that more times than not, uses women's bodies to sell things and objectifies us that I find it really refreshing and lovely to see a boobie getting sunlight with a baby on it, not a logo.

oh, i completely agree that it's better to see a breast being used for what it's made for rather than "sex sells" kind of mentality. i just don't get the need to do it. maybe i'm lucky that jacob was a willing participant in discreet nursing, or maybe it's just because i'm super self conscious and would never expose my own breast (although back in the day.... hahaha) now, i just don't know.

I think you are lucky he's so discreet. I have small breasts (b34ish up from -AA32 lol) and the Squish HATES nursing in public. She gets super distracted, pops off about a million times, and if i try to put anything over her head, or my boob, she SCREAMS. So I figure showing a bit of boob to possibly uncomfortable people is better than toting around an angry hungry child.

But I do see what you mean as well. If I could cover her up I would. I'm so damn self conscious and I always feel I'm being stared at... <3

i really don't care i'd rather see a breast for breastfeeding. lol anything to get it out there in attempts to normalize breastfeeding and desensitize it to the stingy american people.

I have big floppy boobs, but I layer. Plus now that Penny's older I can usually get away with giving her solids and a sippy cup of water until I'm home to nurse. Makes dinner with friends a *lot* more comfortable for all involved.
