After months of obsessing and trying to find out what the monster is in Cloverfield, it was finally leaked, and I think my entire flist should see it. Also, some discussion.
Ever the skeptic, I'm leaning more towards coincidence as far as the mirrored poster image goes. I can see what people are talking about, but it doesn't look as much like the other images as it does a Rancor to me. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if that really was meant to be hidden in the poster like that.
Also, dude! Where did you find the real leaked shot of the monster? Better watch your back. Abrams might come after you!
The thing is, though, if that isn't the clue on the poster, then what is?
A very good point, and one I knew you were going to bring up. I don't know, did you ever consider they maybe they had planned to hide something in there, but never actually went through with it? In any case, I just don't want any I-told-you-so's from you if that really is the monster.
I have a feeling they're not even going to show it in the movie. They're making too much viral money off of people trying to find out if it's Cthulhu or not.
Well, the people who've seen the college screenings this week said that by the time you finish the movie, you've seen the whole monster. I think it's probably more like you see bits and pieces of it.
But at one point they said the character videotaping is on the roof of a building and you see the monster walking below (he's only 40+/- stories tall).
And everyone is saying that too, that it's Sin from FF10 lol
I've been lurking on IMDB's forums, even though 99% of the posts there are fake or have people saying they heard the guy in the trailer say "It's a lion!" ("It's alive"). I also subscribed to 1_18_08blog, since they're pretty good with news updates.

It's a good thing I friends locked this post, JJ would've taken all my money.

Just so long as it's not another Godzilla 2000...
