The past 5 days have been mostly about the horse, starting with a call at 7am Thursday from the morning feeder, saying she had kind of staggered sideways up to the barn, and was currently stumbling around in circles in her stall. Despite the cold and snow, you know why I prefer Imbolc to the freaking Solstice? Because it's not dark at freaking 4pm, or even 5pm. It's so much better for my mood, plus the snow means snow-shoeing and XC-skiing with the dog, which is good on so many levels. (Plus Solstice is pre-Xmas stress + pre-Arisia stress, and you know what that's like.)

On this day, 20 years ago, we brought Kylie home from the NICU. Welcome Home, small one.

Achievement unlocked in 3:45:28.

I was running with (or slightly ahead of) the 3:45 pace team, but started to fall back around mile 19 or so, and never quite made it up. So close, oh well.

No bloody nipples or new blisters, but I do have black toenail on the right big toe, possibly the left as well.

I'm doing this thing on Sunday. It's either going to kill me, or it'll be epic. (Historically, it was both.)
