[Dinner Date] -- [Bill and Kirk]

Nov 11, 2009 09:41

Kirk wasn't entirely sure what the night was going to end up like, but he had some ideas if the party was to say anything. The fact that Bill had agreed to a dinner date at all, when Kirk gave him a definite out on it, was a very pleasant surprise. The way the actor had come straight onto him, even a bit more strongly then Jim himself, and how he ( Read more... )

"Captain's Procedure Four-Two-One, Clearance Kirk-One-Three-Three-Eight." Kirk called out. After all, he had programmed it right after the other one. It did nearly the same thing but it would allow Bones and Spock up here, but allowed a single recording device.

Kirk flopped down into his chair, feeling it warmed, and sighed as he closed his eyes. "Captain's Log... Stardate..." Hell, he had to think about it. "2258.317. Sometimes... Life sucks." He smirked, leaning back. "End Recording."

The second part of that made Kirk laugh a little, "I could make such a comment there," It ran through his head, though. Need a little pussy in your bed? "Haven't even really gotten to meet the little fluffball since she came onto the ship. How is she?"

He frowned a little, though. "...That's right, the all female mission..." He closed his eyes, trying to remember, "Shouldn't they be back soon?"

"Soon," He agreed with a small nod. Impossible to deny that he was looking forward to it, so he would get to stop worrying and curling up in an empty bed.

The thought did not escape him, but it was more of a murmur, and he let it pass. "She is quite sociable. From what I have witnessed, most of the crew seems to find her acceptable company." Popular, like you.

"She's a pretty little thing and smart as her owner from what the rumors tell me." Kirk laughed, a real grin coming to his lips. "You'll need to put a tracker on her to be able to find her on a ship this big."

Kirk wished he had thought about it before, "...If you're all alone Spock you're..." It was strange to offer, heavy on his tongue, "Welcome to come... to my quarters, you know?" Even with Bones, he had never offered to let someone spend the night.

His eyes had been wandering over the details of Jim's body and clothes now that the opportunity presented itself. Hearing the offer made him immediately look up at him, though, unblinking as he searched those blue eyes for some sign of a tease. Spock pulled his hands from his skin to press over his lower chest, maintaining a light pressure but also allowing him some privacy in his mind.

"Are you certain?"

Sometimes, when Spock got this exact look in his eyes, Kirk had absolutely no idea what was going on in his mind. An unreadable expression that felt as black as space, like Spock was purposefully making his mind completely blank. Kirk could only stare and guess what Spock might have been thinking... and failing.

What was Spock looking for? Didn't he know it wasn't easy to offer that to begin with? "Yea, I'm certain."

Relief, and some gratitude. His hand slid up to press his fingertips over Jim's slow-beating heart, barely felt through the fabric of his t-shirt. "I will accept your offer," Spock murmured.

His other hand slid under the edge of Jim's t-shirt to find the pocket of warmth hidden there. The condition his body was in--still not quite gone, certainly not while Spock was sitting here--could be remedied. Possibly. Maybe even here. But while his imagination sorted out the details his reason argued against it. This wasn't the place for that.

Every movement seemed so deliberate on Spock's part, each tiny play of his hands making him try to figure out what was going through Spock's head. The thought made him smirk a little as warm fingers brushed over his stomach, tickling the dark hair there, making muscle ripple.

One of his hands came up and brushed over Spock's face, his own head tilting as he thought about a memory that was his-but-not, and he spread his fingers. He wondered what Vulcans felt when they did this, how the oldest of the Spocks had known exactly where to put his fingers without even a hesitation.

The touch to his cheek brought a strange sort of intimacy that made the bridge and the chair seem much smaller.

But it also reminded him of what he had been thinking about it in the aftermath of their night together. Spock nearly jerked his hand away from Jim's stomach, but masked the motion by simply sliding it further up.

"You cannot meld with me, Jim." And perhaps hiding his wavering confidence in a gentle tease. "They are positioned incorrectly."

"Not Vulcan." Kirk teased back, grinning softly as he gently pulled Spock closer with his hand still at the small of the other's back. "Show me where? I'll start working on that melding thing and maybe in another few hundred years of evolution, I'll get it." He was just having a bit of fun, pressing close and letting the world dissolve away for now except where they were.

So close, his knees hugging Jim's hips and everything getting impossibly warmer.

"...There are stories associated with these points," Spock explained, as he slid his fingers over Jim's cheek and chin, not bringing their minds together just yet. "Ancient mythology to explain each location."

There was also science, but that was neither as fanciful or entertaining.

"Yea? ...Tell me?" Kirk said very softly, shifting his fingers to try and mirror Spock's own, feeling the slow pulse of Spock's blood under his fingertips.

"It is mostly tribute. When we meld, we are meant to acknowledge the elements of our being: our mind, our flesh, our blood." Spock hardly realized it, that his voice was falling into a low whisper, just enough for Jim. "Humans have the saying: that you do not realize the value of something until it is lost. It is the same with the meld; we cannot stay away from our corporeal forms for long."

"Nevasa: she is the sun. She desires that we see her light, illuminates the planet so that we may see it, and gives us our sight. When I touch here," Spock's middle finger brushed over the top of Jim's brow. "I remember her, her two wandering eyes, and how she prevents the Glan-fam, The Blind, from interfering."

His next breath came out as a slow shudder, listening to Spock's voice go low and soft, encompassing the current entire known world as he listened and felt, vaguely hypnotized in a way by it. His mind captured the knowledge in a purely reptilian way; the human part of his mind captured every other little detail. The strength of Spock's fingers against his skin, the tiny shift of his own fingers on Spock's skin to mirror.

"Can you feel it too?" His own voice refused to be louder, like it would destroy everything if he dared. "...my hand... does it feel different?"

"Different?" Spock blinked at him, hand remaining still where it touched Jim's face. "Your hand is the same, as it always is." Human, strong, surprisingly well-kept.

"I mean... can you feel it?" He whispered, looking curious. "Does it feel like when a Vulcan does it?" A soft smile was on his lips, eyes intense.
