Jim was both looking forward to it and nervous about it. They had agreed to meet the healer at a smaller hotel somewhere away from both the medical centers as well as the Federation guest quarters. i think i hate vulcans sometimes, sometimes the pain is inside and out, fingers on my face and in my brain, not too sure how this will go, this conversation could get awkward, brought together by fate, not so boldly going

The walk back to their room had been quiet. They both had thoughts running through their heads regarding all they'd discussed that afternoon, and Bones didn't know how it was all going to end up. Would they agree? Would they argue?

He let Jim walk first into the room and headed straight for the kitchen area. "I'm getting a beer," he called out, pulling out a bottle from the refrigeration unit - the perks of being planetside. "You want one?" he asked in a tired voice.

"You drink and swear too much to be a good Vulcan," Jim teased a little.

Bones mentioning food though... Jim was surprised to realize that, "Yea, actually." Shouldn't have been a surprise, considering how little he had eaten in close to a week.

Bones stood, stretched, and held out his hands to Jim. "C'mon them, Captain." A little smirk flit across his face as he looked down at Jim. "If you're lucky I might even share my cheese grits with you."

"Oh, joy." Jim still couldn't get the idea of grits as edible food into his head. He grasped Bones' hands and stood up with his help. He squeezed them both, the smirk on Bones' face making him grin. "I just want some pork chops."

That smile... "Then you shall have some pork chops." Bones smirked back, tossing an arm casually around Jim's shoulder and then turned, pulling him close into a hug that lasted too long to be casual.

Times like this their close heights was comfortable. Turning his head into Jim's ear, he whispered, "Gonna be okay, Jim. Won't let anything happen to us, I promise." And he meant it. This, what they were, was worth saving at any price.
