Last night I saw one of the most freaking awesomest shows ever. Went out to Sons of Hermann Hall to see the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players and they totally rocked the house. My favorite was a rock opera based on slides from a 70's McDonald Corporation meeting called "Opnad Contribution Study Committee Report". Their work is totally filled ( Read more... )

Was at the grocery store this morning and looking at the magazines at the checkout counter. My local store is so different from others. Titles include:

Essence
Jet
Word Up!
Black Man
Black Life
Sista

and so on. I don't think they even have People which is what I usually see in other stores.

Two weeks ago I started getting these weird phone calls. Caller ID traces them all to Parkland Hospital. The person, who I am sure is the same person, rarely says anything, they scream, babble, sing, are silent, etc. It is pretty damn creepy. Went out with the core crew last night for a dinner at Cuba Libre. After much resistance from all parties but one determined lush, who shall not be named, we had a couple of pitchers of mojitos, which I think I drank an uneven proportion of. I just have a lot to say today. I bought a recommended book called "Femalia" and it came in the mail today from Amazon. It is basically 32 full color pictures of vaginas and the camera is RIGHT THERE. I have to admit I haven't spent much time studying mine (or anyone else's for that matter) and after reviewing the book I am somewhat shocked. ( Read more... )
