Wildfire at sunset ...

I was looking through some of my lookout pictures from last summer, and found a sunset shot of my September wildfire that I liked, but that I hadn't shared because there was a tree messing with the composition. So I played around a little bit yesterday and photoshopped out the tree, and was pretty happy with the result:

Poor Lewis, always worried about his wandering master!

The photo is beautiful. Did the fire do a lot of damage in the end?

Lewis never has a shortage of things to worry about. :)

The fire ended up burning about 1,500 acres, so it was fairly good sized, but not nearly the largest our forest had last year. The good news is that it was a fairly low-intensity fire, so some of the heartier trees in the fire area likely survived, and the forest should recover relatively quickly.
