It's been a busy week. Our office hosts an annual training program for new fire lookouts, and I helped put that on. There was a day of refresher training for the veteran lookouts, too, and I spent another day hauling gear up to Baptiste with a friend

Definitely one of the cooler moments in my life lately. That quilt means a lot.

I promised them I'd photograph the quilt on the Baptiste Lookout bed, so as soon as the mules bring it up I'll do that.

And thanks. Hopefully the summer is mostly peaceful, with maybe one small fire to keep me engaged. :)

Emma, along with Lewis and his stick! He is a legend. What a great gift. Safe hiking and a a boring summer to all of you. (BTW, are those porcupine quills all over Emma?)

The Lookout Dogs are legendary, for sure! And Lewis is renowned for his stick fetish.

And nope ... not porcupine quills. Just the seamstress' way of indicating extreme fluffiness. ;-)

Yep ... the best gift ever! A great tribute to my dogs, and of course a long labor of love, which means a lot to me.
