So apparently lying makes you a more interesting person.

That really depends upon what you're saying when you're telling the truth. If you're truthfully telling people about that crazy and strangely exhilarating recurring dream you've been having where you mutate into that inter-dimensional eldritch abomination and consume the state of Alabama, or that hobby of yours that involves sewing the corpses of dead animals together to create mutant dolls and then having tea parties with them, then the failure to be interesting probably isn't an issue.

In order to coax the dream from the depths of your subconscious? That's understandable; any measures are worthwhile in order to experience that exhilaration once again

For some reason my dreams have changed to sex, torture and sometimes both at the same time. They say it's not normal so I try not to sleep but I can only handle so many energy drinks before the crash.
