jumping lesson today. slate was remarkably good for having monday and wednesday off, and i didn't even lunge him. we did a good couple of combinations. vertical one stride vertical, bending line to another vertical, rollback to 4 jump line consisting of a cross rail bounce, one stride to a vertical, and three strides to an oxer. he was super good. slate finally got new shoes on so i could ride him yesterday. he pulled a shoe on friday, so just lunged him fri, sat, and sun. sunday he something startled him i guess, and he raced off and broke the lunging surcingle, i got some nice rope burn. so i gave him monday off, mainly to let my hand heal. then came on tuesday and saddled him up ( Read more... )
