Rainbow eyes are a super easy and dramatic look perfect for beginners AND intermediate makeup artist and wearers.
I love doing a rainbow all the way across my eyes because I don't feel
as cramped as trying to fit 6+ piggies in equal portions on one eye...
I used these pigments from
Madd Style Cosmetix and a NYX jumbo pencil(depotted) in milk.
If you are a beginner to blending, make sure your piggies are all along
the same tonal values. Mine are almost all bright primary/secondary
colors with Opal as my highlighter... Penny Arcade took some patience
and building so if you are a beginner wanting to do this look, I would
suggest Blister In The Sun to make it easy. You can use all
light/pastels,all dark/jewel tones, and they will look great without any
blending needed!
Experienced/intermediate blenders, feel free to.choose any colors you want since the blending will save your tonal differences!
I applied my NYX crayon over Urban Decay Primer Potion (not vegan, fyi)
sparingly, just to.give me a better base color. For more info on bases
and WHY I didn't go.solid white, see my
blog post here.
Remember
ROY G. BIV? In our case, we only have 6 colors to make it even, so we
took indigo out. If you wanted to have all 7 colors, each eye would have
4 colors with the inner color being green.
Anywho, start with your R
(red or pink) and apply to the outter of one lid, orange in the center,
and yellow to your inner lid. You can put it in your inner corner if
you don't plan to highlight it. There is
your "warm" eye. I am ocd so yes I DID apply in the order of the
rainbow. You can start at any area of your lid so long as you know
what.color area you're in. My cool eye has green on my inner lid, blue
center, purple outer. I did NOT blend for this look so that beginners
can see how seamless it looks.
No eyeliner yet.
Apply Opal to your inner corners and brow bone. It has a very pretty, elusive
color to it, just like real opals! Without being too opaque. If you
want an even MORE dramatic look, go ahead and slap on a more WHITE
pigment and some black in your crease... rainbows are great for day and
night wear.
Finish the look with your liner style of choice, I suggest filling in your brows with dramatic looks but it's not necessary.
People will probably try to be nice and inform you that your eyes are two
different colors, or worry you have a black eye or or or. You WILL get
questions so make sure you rock it like no other.
