Like Lambs To The Slaughter

I've been delaying on talking about my new Userpics for several reasons. First and foremost is the fact that I've been a little sheepish about the fact that I only pseudo-upgraded to get them. I mean, Free Account + I-see-ads-but-you-don't = 9 more Userpics, 3 audio-LJs/month and a photo album for free? Damn, Kit. You're just being cheap now ( Read more... )

My Userpics are based around my journal's title and theme:
"The Bifurcation"
(bifurcation: (n) a halving; a division by two; the line that cuts something down the middle)

I'm of two minds about everything these days (the past 2 1/2 years), so it's apropos, I think. With that in mind, all of my Userpics are chosen to both 1) act as useful varied representations of the journals they head up and 2) have something to do with the Jekyll-Hyde concept.

Okay, my default Userpic.
It's Jason Flemyng as Dr. Jekyll in "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen." I also think we have similar facial structure.

...Or perhaps he's just my idealized self-image. Enh.

Your nose is nicer than his. And the sideburns make him look fat.

(his nose looks like a cat.)

This is Mr. Hyde from the graphic novel version of "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen." It also is possibly the best depiction of unreasoning rage I've ever seen.

This is Adam Baldwin as Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde in the TV version. The movie was alternately called "The Prophecy of the Tiger." Not precisely sure why.

However. This is a great "of two minds" picture, and I use it when I'm not sure how I feel about something.

This is an icon from some video game or another that's used to depict the spell "Evil Twin" (eh? eh? Jekyll/Hyde?) I like it because it's also got that whole vase-or-faces vibe going on.

This is my go-to for video games and computer-heavy posts.

This is John Barrymore as Jekyll & Hyde from the 1920 version. That man was brilliant, and it constantly amazes me the effects they were able to make happen so long ago.

I use this for old-timey things. Nostalgia, antiques, classic movies, etc.
