The Truth About Cats and Dogs

Feb 12, 2011 00:41

My brother owns cats now.  Two.  Sisters.  Emily and Melly.  (I told him those were stupid names for cats and they would henceforth be known as Chairman Meow and Dr. Pepper.)  Mom is overjoyed to have them.  Dad?  Not so much.

I was looking forward to introducing them to this notorious catnip stuff that apparently turns kittens into berserkers ( Read more... )

Your dad is obviously magical. That's how he stopped Melly from attacking him. ;-)

I know, right?
How is this possible?
What is WRONG with cats?
They annoy the crap out of him, so of course they like him best.

But I feed them TURKEY! At risk to my very life!
::sulks:: Traitors.
I swear, every time I leave their house I look like an angsty teenage cutter.

Ahahaha....

Actually, my youngest of the four does that. He tries to climb up my legs to get to the food whenever I feed them. Unfortunately, he's now fully grown and has *sharp* pointy claws! And he tries it whether I'm wearing anything on my legs, or not.

I fear you've created a monster...

Oh indeed. You never truly realize how very very sharp a kitty's claws are until they launch themselves at you and those giant needles go into a nice tender bit of inner-thigh, no?

I'm thinking this whole renaming this business may be working. Emily outright ignores me when I call her Chairman, just exactly she does when I call her Emily.
And Melly.
I'm pretty sure she thinks her name is 'God.'
She tends to manifest while I am eating so the first thing she tends to hear from me is "O hai--AHHHHH GOD!"
She's beginning to answer to it. ~.~;;

Cats... that's what you get for thinking that they're ANYTHING like dogs. In the words of Robin Williams, All cats are drag queens. lol

Muurgh. This is why I am not going to own cats.
My plan is to get a Rescue Greyhound. When I'm ready. Because it's basically like owning a kid. And there's no one I loathe more than a person who abandons their animals because they bought one irresponsibly. There used to be a lot of strays in Savannah for just that reason. It always made me really sad.
I refuse to be one.
I REFUSE.

I have two friends who went the Rescue Greyhound route. They are lovely dogs, and though I wanted one, I had to give the idea up. They are very beautiful.

There are a lot of strays here too. Most of my pets are former strays- and very awesome pets. (Tho at times I think they think I'm the pet...)

Awwww, good for your friends! Greyhounds are such precious animals. They're so gentle and just want to be loved. Aaahh god I want one so badly!

Most of your pets? O.o How many do you have?
Kudos to you too! Puppies are cute, but strays really need the homes. ::heart-melty::

Also Chairman Meow is an awesome cat name, if I ever have one I'll name him/her that...or possibly Fussel.

Chairman Meow is one of the most popular cat names. Most people who name it that think they're the first one to come up with it.
