There's a great Billy Collins poem about that, getting a song stuck in your head. He read it on Prarie Home Companion last week.

Also, I read the post after the above post about your political activism with regard to the environment, inter alia. Good for you. I was beginning to think no one was interested in environmental activism any longer. At least, from the posts I read on LJ, it seems like the college age generation isn't as concerned as prior generations at that age. I've been doing some work on the Reno campaign and have been an environmental attorney for many years.

Gosh, you name it. Probably the only things I really haven't worked on are at the federal level as I work for a county and deal primarily with city, county and state environmental and land use issues: wetlands (dredge and fill), haz waste (rcra), cercla (superfund), everglades restoration, haz materials, underground storage tanks, wellfield protection, takings/inverse condemnation, growth management, urban sprawl, brownfields, asbestos, etc. I've also done a lot of environmental civil prosecutions, although I don't do that anymore. Probably the most interesting thing I'm dealing with now are several multi-national natural gas companies attempting to bring a nat. gas pipeline in through my county from the bahamas (laying pipe on the ocean floor).
