While I'm not going to pretend that working with the internets ever actually gets me cut, I totally empathize with your feeling like you're doing crappish.

I can assure you that you're not, if only because you're you, and you do good work.

BE CAREFUL! damnit people cutting themselves lately.

One of my classmates cut a tendon in her knuckle while cutting up squash and is now out of commission for the semester as far as book-lab is concerned. Thankfully she can still take notes and stuff, but damn. Which hand did you cut? Can you still work with it bandaged and stuff?

Right hand, index finger, the knuckle at the base of the finger. When I called my mom, she asked where the cut was, I told her, and there was a pause as she hmmmd.
Then she said 'well, there are two major tendons you could have cut-'
'Mom, if I'd cut I tendon, I'd know about it, and would have called you a hell of a lot sooner.'
'And one major nerve. Have you noticed any sensation loss?'
'Nope.'
'Well, put bacitracin on it, keep it covered, and try not to wiggle it too much. I sent you away with some bacitracin in hand didn't I?'
I loves my mommie.
I can work, (carefully) but I have to keep away from tasks that get my hands wet. I shower with a plastic bag on my hand, but other than that, there's nothing I really can't do. It just stings occassionally, and is now starting to itch as it begins to heal.

that sounds like a rough day! i hope the healing is going well, sounds like a pretty serious cut.

i seriously doubt you need to worry about the quality of your work. you always produce such beautiful things & if nothing else, you're still new at this place. i'm sure the bossman understands this.
