I am really enjoying watching this series. Well, the 3 episodes I just watched got a little boring, but I'm in a very cranky mood and when I watched Season One and episodes 1-9 of Season Two I had no complaints. I recommend it highly. For me, it has the added extra special something because it is about surgery, which I love doing.

I did not like this movie. It felt loose, like the seams had come undone. It didn't make me feel for any of the characters. It had secrets and I wished that they would let them out early on in the movie so that there would be something interesting going on. The story is easy to review. An extremely serious group of high-schoolers live out a film noir crime drama. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was very good (again) and I liked many of the other characters too (if I tell you their names I'll give something away). A cute little documentary from the 60's about these two guys going surfing. They start in California and then travel to Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Hawaii, searching for the perfect wave. Three stories about women dealing with life. The first segment was with Kyra Sedgewick. She portrayed a battered wife and explains how she got there. But it explains, it tells, literally in the form of an annoying narration which I imagine came directly from the original short stories. It was almost funny (once in a long while). A depressed guy goes home to his parents. They live in a small depressing town. It's late winter and everything is brown and yucky. Too long, too loud, and a bit stupid. I didn't get the first half of the movie... or was that just the long drawn out beginning? We learn where this speed racer guy came from, how he grew up and all.
