Quick Update

Feb 02, 2012 20:26

Book progress has slowed down. So close yet so far away. Its always hard to think, the end. But I must think, the end of one story and the start of the next. I've been picking all my doodles, sketches and drawings for the Space Adventure and placed them all together.

And then I got type happy. O.o )

cosplay, the answer, life

If you are really interested in graphic design, a portfolio is going to help you more than a degree. Does your job ever need fliers or business cards done? Offer to do it for them and then look for other freelance work. It's hard at the start but that's the only way to get the ball rolling. And if you have questions you can always ask me :)

I believe we have a on sight designer for my work. Everyone gets there own buisness cards but they are place onto a already approved layout. But I should ask if I could do something for the weekly memeber events. Its a good idea, I'll talk to the vounteer person who is in charage of the events if I could do something like that. I was going over some old art and found my old cartoons I did for the news paper. I really need to make a good up to date portfolio.

Will a portfolio is it bad to have "copys" of some works as some of my works are to big or I have them in use in other projects at the moment.

Copies are fine, especially since most people will only see your portfolio through the web. Just make sure your copies are the best print quality you can get :).

Sorry to hear about all the lameness. :( I hope things get a little more under control when your parents are gone. <3 <3 <3

And hey, I still think we all need to have a hanging out/watching anime/drawing/writing party were we can help each other be productive and support each other and stuff! If you ever need writing/drawing support, let me know! I love to being a drawing/writing cheerleader! :D

I know you want to get together but I really don't get anything done when I have friends over. >.< Live fun to fun and work to work. Maybe when it comes spring I will want to get a group together but I just feel so out of it, I don't care to be with people much. But, Alicia does want to do the space simulator in apirl.

Good luck with your book, hun!

And I know that it's on the "hopes" list, but it would be so awesome if you could make it to Fanime! To have you as the Chibi to my Moon would be fabulous.

But- no pressure! I hear you about the money issue. That's why I only go to one con a year! And I've been doing it the tightwad way for the last couple of years, too (ie: no hotel, no badge, just cosplay).

...That makes me sound really cheap. XD

No, makes you sound smart. Sadly, most of the cool cons are out of my state. The in state one is so so, but I don't get to meet great people, like you. I just mostly posted to let my cosplay friends know I don't hate cosplay and want to never return, I just need a break. Fanime can totally get away with no hotel, no badge and still lots of fun with great cosplayers and photographers. Its good to know I have a Moon when ever I need one.

I'm in the same boat of wanting to move and not really having the means to. However, my car should be paid off this year and moving out will be more likely. And being the only one in the house with my parents after May is going to drive me nuts... yeah. Want to move out ASAP!! Or you know, marriaged or somethingI'm a firm believer in setting goals and rewarding self when goals are met. And then comes a time where you're like "I want to do this thing, but I can't afford it... what's the next best thing ( ... )

Yes, moving out from under the parents is needed at some point. In some point in our lives we becomes our own little personalites and its hard for parents to understand that they are no longer moleding a little person.

Next best thing is what I have to see more often. Lagoon is one of my options vrs disneyland. I know not ever close to the same thing but I've enjoyed going to lagoon with friends.

My work and just the distance of us makes it really tricky.

I wish you best of luck too. Summer is our peek season but right now is the dead season.

You are way to stressed dear *hugs*It sounds like living at home and financial situation are the main issues. I would suggest trying to find a second part time job if you can't find a full time one. That way you can work on paying off bills and saving money to eventually move out. It may take a while, but there are jobs out there! Also, if there's someone you could stand to share an apartment/house with that might help you move out sooner, start talking with them. More money also means you can buy the food you want to eat. My grandparents aren't really eating well, they like too many fatty foods and sweets, and my mom always has several kinds of sweets, but for me I'm usually happy with a few cookies once or twice a week and other than my addiction to juice that's really the only high sugar foods I eat. You can talk with them about how you are worried that they aren't eating right and taking care of themselves, but in the end they are adults who have the right to choose ( ... )

Well, I wasn't so stressed when I posted but then I went to work and realize I have a really crappy night crew who places me to shame. ;_; And there is little I can do about the matter as I don't works nights and have no will to work nights. Most of my the people I know are one - also living with there parents or two- party people or people I'd in turn have to take care of. Hardest part is I've grown to like living in a home. I wouldn't mind living somewhere smaller but living in an apartment is a big turn off for me. Yah, diets differ amoung generations. I really can't say anything about that to my parents. Its under my "opinion" topic that I just try not to get into. After having some heated and teary words when my parents returned, I soon just went to my room and just didn't really talk to them. Yes, I talked a little to my mom when I'm at the cracking point from work or cons and that but I really don't feel like I can really confide in my mom to much. Its just I know when I talk to my mom I'm allowing my life topic to be tomorrow' ( ... )
