Do you want me to send you my BSB collection?

Um... Okay besides my vote for anything by BSB I'd say stick to the classics by them. Quite Playing Games is always a good pick.. *tries to think of newer stuff* um... Yeah, I really like Incomplete as well.

Yeah, Quit Playing Games is always a safe bet. It's still somewhat popular over here as well.

Thank you for all the suggestions! I ended up picking Quit Playing Games and Sk8er Boi for my BSB and Avril additions. So far the CDs have gone over well. They reacted like they'd set low expectations and I'd busted them right open so that was good. I ended up with 20 songs, 15 from Rick Dee's and the last five were 2 Reggae, 1 BSB, 1 Avril and a version of Last Christmas.

Always love Wyclef Jean - Gone Till November, and I can't find it, but remember "Take Me As I Am" from Love Actually?

Fugees do a good version of No Woman No Cry. Also Killing Me Softly.

Maybe it's more pop than Reggae, but Harmour Love holds a special place in my heart.

Pass The Dutchie is a classic!

Calypso.... you said Reggae... Calypso isn't reggae, but he's Jamaican! Harry Belafonte's Jump in the Line and Matilda.

And for interest's sake, Maxi Priest ... know him? Love Somebody For Life, he does a collaboration with some Japanese guy for some movie. You may remember Maxi Priest from That Girl (feat. Shaggy).

Speaking of Shaggy, Mr. Boombastic and Angel are good, It Wasn't Me perhaps inappropriate but has a lovely sound. (I had it playing in the car, and a minute or two in, Andrew says "this song is terrible!")

Apparently Ini Kamoze's Here Comes The Hotstepper is a reggae classic. As is Bob Marley's Jammin'. Also Buffalo Soldier has lots of lyrics ( ... )

You, my dear, saved my tail from the fire. I had no idea where to start with Reggae! I picked Jammin and Killing me softly with his song but now I have enough extra Reggae to put something different in all the CDs I'll need to make for the next several semesters! Thank you!

Never really listened to BSB or Reggae...but Avril:

Girlfriend (her latest hit)
Hot (Also v. popular atm)
Sk8r Boi (classic Avril; I actually really like this song)
Complicated (Definitely Classic Avril)
When you're gone
Nobody's home
Keep holding on
I'm with you
My happy ending
Fall to pieces

All of those songs got at least some air time over here, so they're pretty safe bets as a 'What North American's in General Like' sampling. I also think they illustrate her growth (or commercialization) as an artist.

Thank you! I picked Sk8er Boi to add to the CD. I figure that was a good safe bet with a good beat.

Oh my. English or 'English'? XD I want to stick to songs from out of the country though. My sneaky second agenda is trying to widen their horizons through music.
