Blah
Graduated. Almost a full-fledged RN. Convocation was boring and long - regret going. Pinning was great - I have an official RN nametag!
Feeling generally unloved and undervalued - parents didn't come to convocation. Had to find friends to stand in as family.

Heartache and self-loathing
J broke up with me. I'm not devastated about it. We knew we were breaking up sometime so it's not a surprise. What sucks is that I was the jerk in the relationship, and I did not behave honorably.
And I miss him, sort of. We weren't right for each other, but I miss the easy habits we had together.

Depression.
Isn't it wonderful?
And you know what the worst part is? I'm currently working as a mental health clinician, with people with far more crippling depression than my own. I know all the tips, the tricks, the tools, and the best way to use them all. I spend my days helping people find the tool that works for them. But I can't seem to apply ( Read more... ) -
Settled in
Well, I've settled in to Masset. New things don't really happen to me all that much anymore. I'm limited to where I can go and what I can do, because I lack a vehicle. For instance, this weekend is Expression Session (a huge surf weekend), but I don't have wheels, so I can't make it out to the beach for the BBQ and music and stuff. Walkabouts
My daily walk to work is quite pleasant. It takes me about fifteen to get to work. The hospital is brand-new. It’s about a year old. We’ve got 9 beds, 4 acute beds and 5 long-term care. The community clinic and all associated services are attached to the hospital. I’m in the Mental Health wing…which shares space with the Physio, Child development, ( Read more... ) -

The journey
For those of you who don’t know, I am going to be living in Masset, BC for 8 weeks. Masset is a community of about 800-1000 people, located on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands). Real entry pending
...all I have to say right now is that I thoroughly love Christmas. Even though I'm not with my family this year, I have loving friends, who I love and who love me (regardless of how they show it), and that keeps me from being too lonely.
