So, yesterday Maryann and I came back from our vacation! It was fantastic. Both France and Belgium were fabulous, we had great wines in France and beers in Belgium, about a thousand pictures were taken, and we had a very romantic picnic on Champs de Mars on our last day.

Needless to say, there is some jet lag, and we both got up at 6 AM today.

We are in the medieval French city of Carcassonne now! It is beautiful here! Tonight we are taking a train ride to Nice; before that, we will have to spend four hours waiting in Collioure, a small beach town close to the Spanish border.

In just ten or so hours, Maryann and I will be flying to Paris! It has been three years since I've been to Europe. It is going to be fun! And, of course, we both deserved a two-week-long break from work.

Ironically, my parents and us will be in France on the same day. However, we won't see them as they will be in Avignon when we are in Paris.

I feel special today. Exactly ten years ago, on May 23, 1996 I graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park. So, I've been out in the real world for ten years, or almost a third of my life ( Read more... )

I have just heard from a project manager from my consulting firm. It looks like my idle days are over -- as of tomorrow, I am starting a new project, this time on Data Warehousing. Looks like I will work on some cool new technologies. But the funniest thing is that I will be working in the same building as a year ago! I don't mind it, though. ( Read more... )

I am idle now! In my company's lingo, it means that I am between projects. It won't last long, though, as my company needs to make some profits off me, too. In the meantime, I am studying the K2.net product and preparing for my certifications. And, of course, catching up on my sleep. That's a big one ( Read more... )

Looks like I got some kind of 24-hour bug on Wednesday. I worked for about ten hours and, naturally, felt tired. Then I went to the gym hoping that it will help me feel better. Alas, it only turned for the worse. When I got home, I felt some chills and had to force myself to eat what Maryann cooked for me, and barely made it to my desk to play with ( Read more... )

It is my birthday today! Maryann cooked a fabulous gourmet dinner, with halibut, stuffed mushrooms, and tiramisu gelato. She also gave me a great present -- a massage chair for my car!

Tomorrow we'll host a little party here. I hope it will be fun!
