Best friends daughter turns 12 (TWELVE!!) this week - and she's decided she can't be "bothered" having friends over, cos it's "boring" (save me, we have entered.... the sullen pre-teen years... :-o ), so instead she wants to go swimming at the pools with her Mum, me and another friend of ours, and two kids who are friends of the family ( Read more... )

I must've missed whatever he said...or interpreted it as a joke and plain forgotten it...I just don't remember it at all. Can you repeat what you heard? I DO remember the comment about THOR's drinking problem, though. ;-)

And (forgive the random change in topic), but am I the only one who paid much attention to Michael Shanks announcing he was an alcoholic at the con??

I think you are, because I don't remember that...and I'm FAIRLY sure when he came past our table Satruday night he had a Heineken in his hand...odd...maybe you're just getting old. :D

Yes, he did say something about being an alcoholic and I did see him with a beer (you may be right Jilly that it was a Heineken) during the Dessert Party.

What I'm wondering is if he still smokes????

I don't remember it either and I think that I would have, so that bothers me. What exactly did he say?

It was about 2 mins after he came on stage and asked everyone where they were from. And then he says "Hi, I'm Michael Shanks..... *cue screaming and applause*...... and I'm an alcoholic...."

I am 100% certain on this, because I have the audio from the panel, and I just checked it :p (and yes, I had official permission to do so :p backup stuff to ensure Gateworld's reports were accurate)

You know who would have made note of it, Dana Jeanne. I haven't seen her con report up on MSOL, but she would know.

Hmmmm....I remember something about alcohol but I took it as a jokey thing too....deffo remember the Thor thing.....The terrible twosome did of course comment at Collectomania that it was probably the first Con appearance that they'd done without being hungover or still drunk from the previous night though!....*snortle*....of course I have no idea if Mr Scotch and Mr Vodka went out that night LOL!..

Maybe he's just cut it out for a while.....not fun dealing with dirty nappies and screaming babies with a hangover....been there, done that thank you very much!....*snerk*
