It's fiestas de quito week! Which means that everyone is flipping out. And by flipping out I mean standing on the sidewalk getting scandalously drunk (to quote krysty) all day and all night. I have a request for the next time you come back... can you bring us 2 sets of equedorian money? We can pay you back of course. Josh seems to be interested in estarting his foreign money collection, and my uncle is a HUGE collector, but doesnt have any from equedor!

Unfortunately, Ecuador no longer has it's own money. It switched to the US dollar in 2000 because of ongoing economic crisis. It's still pretty much in economic crisis, but now it just uses the dollar. Sorry :( I actually found a sucre coin on the ground the other day, and I've heard that they sell old sucres at some markets for like 2,500 sucres/dollar, so if I find any more or manage to find out which markets sell them, I will try to get some for you.
