百年好合, I guess. Does "theoretically speaking" mean you're engaged? Do you have a date? Did Brett get down on one knee to propose, and, if so, were you still looking up at him?

I will hopefully be back in CA for a little while in November. I haven't told you guys yet, but I'm planning to drive up and see you. Hope it doesn't conflict with your honeymoon (!).

I practically witnessed you posting that comment. Do you ever use AIM or Skype or any of that these days? Not that we could Skype between Taiwan and China or anything. I might pollute your mind with my evil, capitalist free speech.

Well, Brett and I got married this labor day weekend.

We drove down to SD. We planned to get married in a court there, but it was closed for the weekend. So Brett's dad called a relative of his, who was certified to perform the ceremony. We got married at the beach there. Only Brett's parents, his aunt, uncle, and cousin, and the relative's wife were there. His cousin learned about the wedding that morning, less than an hour before the wedding ceremony. It was funny to see to him rushing towards us, wearing a T-shirt and holding a shirt at hand--- he was out surfing at that time.

We don't plan to have a honeymoon or anything, although we do plan to go to China sometime next May or June to visit my family in China. We wanted to get married so that we can work on my visa stuff.

I am theoretically speaking "Mrs. Collins" because I don't plan to change my last name, at least not right away. It's too much trouble to do the paper work and Brett is totally fine with it.

Yeah, don't change your name. "Qihui Collins" sounds kind of-unnatural.

Are you guys going to have some sort of reception or something? You really should. It would be a good excuse for us all to fly out and be together again. When we graduated, we all said, "Well, see you when someone gets married."

Oh, we also thought about Casey when we were planning the marriage stuff. Apparently the court or county clerk doesn't perform wedding ceremonies in the Monterey County. People have to drive up to San Jose if they want to get married in the court. So we wished that Casey lived somewhere close. Didn't he get some kind of online certification to perform wedding ceremonies?
