I am flying to Baltimore next Thursday for a conference. DLI pays for my flight ticket and hotel. It's quite sweet. I am excited about going to Baltimore. Never been there before.

read a Chinese novel on internet---Zhong guo shi li hun (Chinese style divorce). It's quite nice a book. There is also a movie based on the novel. Actually, I first saw an ad for the movie when I went to Chinatown in SF. The main actor and actresses came to CA for an advertizement for the movie. Got back from NY for about two days now. Brett's step brother works in NY and he had a daughter about two weeks ago. So Brett is officially an uncle now. We stayed in NJ for about 5 days and didn't do much in NY. Walked around the Rockfeiller(?) center when it was raining. Also visited ground zero.
