what does this mean?

By Sunday, a strong low pressure will be positioned off the New England Coast, bringing a wintry mix and snow to parts of the Mid-Atlantic, and heavy snow to parts of interior New England. Strong winds will also develop.

does this mean that we're going to get snow and ice, but not as bad as other parts? - weather is so confusing!

It means the storm is too far out for them to give percise details yet.

I am betting on Snow/Sleet mix starting late Saturday night.
