I do think it is kind of weird how some people really do put a label on themselves. I mean, your buddy icon is "Asian Girls Rock" I can't imagine seeing many "White Girls Rock" icons or anything like that. I don't really like of myself as white, I just think of myself as Robin, as who I am. My race doesn't really describe me. I remember going into the bathroom in the basement at BF Brown, and there puerto rican girls saying "Ohhh... a white girl!" And I said "I'm not white, I'm peach." Because I didn't associate myself with the color white (actually, I was probably just trying to start trouble). But I think that there is too much emphasis on race. Why can't we just me Kerry and Robin?

exactly! i remember there was a girl in our class that was fairly racist and but i didnt realize this till after i was friends with her and it made me really self conscious around her but she was like oh dont worry you're different, you're like us not them...and the way she said it just made me feel really awkward.

and yeah i know the icon, like i said ill fully admit to being bad with it at times and what not

i totally understand what you are saying and i respect it.

society sucks nowadays and people are so quick to judge in an unfortunate tragedy like this their common sense escapes them. i've seen it happen personally and i can see how you are offended. and i agree there is WAY to much emphasis on race. and you know what? it's become more than just what the race of a person is...people can be degraded for their pant size and put down for how big or how skinny or if they have bad teeth...no one is safe! people look at me funny when i hang out with a group of friends who HAPPEN to be darker than me and onestly i could give 2 craps what they think...well excuse me for practicing diversity, thats just the way i am! i like learning about other cultures and whatever, and i'm no stranger to being called pasty. it's the french canadian in me.

but i heart you no matter what and i still use my chopsticks, SO THERE.
