Last night Matt (R.) and I were celebrating his birthday all by our little lonesomes, Ithaca having become the studentless ghost-town it is, when i got a call from Chuck. Chuck was wondering if i would be available to help teach a Go Camp with Feng Yun on the 26th. It's a kids camp, and they apparently need someone to teach one of the groups of ( Read more... )

Congratulations! I'm sure it will be a blast... I'm sure you'll be a good teacher, too. I actually taught a few people the VERY basics at a con in September, and it's true what they say about teaching being a great way to reinforce and learn yourself.

And of course, maybe you'll get schooled yourself by Feng Yun. What an opportunity!

thanks! It went pretty well, apparently i was "very patient and caring", but that might just be what they said because i got dogpiled by the whole group when i was giving out prizes.

I actually might get some lessons from her in the future as a result of this, but that chance didn't come this time -- instead i got schooled by some of her students :)
