I have been training again. I have dropped 2 lbs since Wednesday, and just finished a one hour mixed martial arts class. it was KILLER.

my upper body is as strong as a baby canary. it is sad. but my lower body can lunge and kick all day! It is nice being back in training, even if it isn't for anything specific. My body likes to work.

I met the vet yesterday in the 13 degree weather, and I got Finn out he field and jogged him he was beautifully sound. Then, the vet put him under flexion....and he was unresponsive to any pain. No pain! Then I jogged him out, and he was BARELY off on the chip side, and completely sound on the other. I thought I was going to get the clear to put ( Read more... )

Ok so my goal of writing 300 words everyday had not happened, until day 3 of the year, but whatever. I have had a great weekend. I went to the barn yesterday for around 4 hours in weather under 12 degrees. Trance got new shoes and Finn remains sound. The vet comes out tomorrow afternoon to do a flexion, and if Finn stays sound it is BACK TO WORK! I ( Read more... )

I almost went to bed and forgot to do this whole writing thing. Now, I could have coped out and cited my earlier work on this wedding website of ours as my writing of the day. I managed to conquer the elusive 'our story' page as well as the 'yes we are getting married way the fuck in croatia, here are the details' page. So, that was a plus.

Well, here I sit. Christmas in the quaint cabin in the middle of the Smokey mountains. There are presents under one of the sadder trees I have seen. It isn't a tree, really, just some plastic molded into a two and a half foot tall solid white cousin It mass with a sad, reflective red butterfly on top. I suppose I am due for an update. I turned 25 today, and spent all day working on my final paper of my first semester in graduate school. I worked all day on this with only a few hours of sleep, since some friends came over last night for a birthday slumber party that put down a ton of alcohol and more laughs, while the snow outside hit three feet.

I guess there is no way around it. I suck at updating this thing. I wish I spent more time in self-reflection, but from the looks of it I never take a moment to record it all or ponder it all.
