Chris the fortune cookie. I like it. I'll have to tell katie that she's now dating a fortune cookie.

And I'm not completely hopeless, just longing for individuality. Like, I suppose, everyone else on the planet. It really helps just knowing that people are listening and behind me, supporting me--thank you.

I did not wish to even imply you as hopeless. Just, I didnt want you to feel alone in the feeling. There have been times where I felt very much the same. And though not for some time now, I have felt it and had to deal with it. I am honored to be one to listen and support.

I know exactly how you feel, for the longer than I care to remember I've been the person people ran to with problems looking for advice on anything, I had my own beliefs and thoughts, they we're good because I was able to keep myself from the social influence of the cliches at school. But not one of those people ever considered me more than anything than just someone to listen to them. Your paragraph about the "archetypal 'best friend' figure" expressed so well how I felt for those years. I just want to say that I know exactly what you mean, and try not to let it get you down. Sorry I don't have much to say about it, but know that you are your own. Even though you might not understand yourself, or who you "really" are, you should just realize that you exist and live to be you. Maybe we should focus on our actions and our expression to find out who we are. I'm not one to go soul searching for anything, so I have nothing to offer on that

Thanks Andy-- and I could never hate you, not after the penguins, lucky charms, and presbyterians of engineering camp! Although you still have me one-upped in air hockey, and I'm not entirely sure if I can permit that ;)

I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone in my little universe, and I know it will pass. It always does. I'm generally a very happy person, but you can't really tell from reading my lj lately...

haha, those we're some amazing games of airhockey, I might have to fly up to you and play you again sometime, a plane ticket is most definately worth spending a day with you playing air hockey, good times =D maybe I'll even order a penguin and bring it with me. haha

So if I see a crazy ninja-Texan walking around with a penguin, I'll know its you. Got it. Oo, and you should totally get the penguin go-kart so your penguin can be your chauffer. That was one crazy night in the project room, to come up with so many jokes that we're still using ;)
