I finally got around to spending an afternoon in Washington, DC. My friend Sarah, who I met at the Bucklew Scholars reception my... junior year, I think, has been an intern in DC all spring. I don't expect to ever go. While I think it sucks (for them) that the white man seriously kicked their ass all over the North American continent, I don't really care about their culture. Once you get past feathers, spears, and teepees, I lose interest. I'd rather just go to the Air and Space Museum again.

As someone who finds the culture fascinating, I think the museum totally blows--because it's mostly just artifacts hanging on walls. I mean, I think those are cool, too, but there are only so many pots, arrowheads, and ceremonial outfits that you can look at. A few exhibit halls full of that sort of thing would be cool. But four floors?
