Call Center Etiquette

You've all probably had to call someplace where you had to listen to a half hour of automated system prompts to get anything done. Let me tell you something - the people you finally talk to when you get through that system are just as frustrated with it as you are, because all day long what do they hear? I hate those menu systems, but I never flip out on people about it. I always try to be nice to people who work in these places. I know they're only trying to help, & after listening to my mom tear every poor person she's talked to a new one, I always try to help & thank them when I'm done.
