Just two more sets of photos to pimp, but in the meantime I'm going to take advantage of the fact that I'm not in work to do a bit of an update ( Read more... )

Belated happy birthday!

I'm kind of relieved that Sheffield is cancelled tonight as well as I really need the time to get my body back to UK time and I'm out for most of the week as well. Ah well here's hoping that they re-schedule the gig for some other time.

Yeah. It's kinda a mixed blessing. I'm sure it would have been a good gig, but I'm not sure I have the energy.

another belated happy birthday.

Someone really should have told the lass in the last pic she still had the price tag on her jacket. Or has that chav fashion hit the LARP world too? ;-p

The curse of the modern LRP world. If I could be bothered to remove every lammie from every photo I would never get anything done!

guessed that's what it was. Odd that you must wear proper outfit/armour etc for these things and then have to wear an anachronistic plastic tag.

Really though it's the issue there is no "proper" and the standard of the real item is seldom as good as it "should" be. Plus they act as an aide memoire and proof in some cases.

Some people wear them more obviously than others though.

"I get the impression from now until about 65 it's the wilderness years of increasing bitterness about lost youth and other opportunities."

Only if you believe that to be the case. Age is a state of mind! I have more drive and ambition now than I did 15 years ago - might even turn some of it into reality. ;o)

Missed the OU course thing completely. What you studying?

It was all rather tongue in cheek. I would say you were a good example, but that would go some way to revealing your age :-P

OU - Shaping public policy: contexts and processes. It's going to be a challenge to get it done with all my other (over) commitments.

I concur! I'm not as fit as I was (and I really miss the dancing - especially at the moment for some reason) but I think I'm wiser and happier.

Your comment brings to mind one of my favourite - though perhaps over-used - quotes on the matter:
"Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." (Originally Mark Twain - I had to look that up).

Your comment also prompts me to suggest maybe meeting up when I come South in about 2 weeks? Can take it to email if you like. Trying to resist the urge to relive my clubbing days - I just know I'm no longer cut out for it even if I could find a replacement for Eddies.

Depends when. I'm only in the country for about a week of December...
