The Cleverness of Crows
Okay, so most people have probably seen this already (if you read the BBC news site regularly) but I find these studies of tool use in New Caledonian crows especially fascinating. But then again, I am biased.

Caw!
Probably of interest to very few people, but I just loved the visual style of this pre-game release anime episode: Heavenly Sword - Legend of the Sword (this was the least grainy version of it that I could find online - I watched it locally in much better resolution and sound).
Now back to slumping in my rut. -
Sick and wrong.
I feel ill and angry at the same time.
The same day I spot and help rescue a sick guillemot, there's a truly unpleasant show of one of the worst sorts of human behaviour not far away. Makes me ashamed to be the same species. -

Note to self: Watch 'Second Coming' again as part of recent campaign to re-watch some old favourites.
What is it about the new year that makes a person want to go through this 'Auld Acquaintances' ritual?
I'm enjoying it - whatever it is.
