Job

It looks like I might have a job. Well, at least one.

The interesting aside is it will be in London, most of the time.

Anyone got any smart ideas as to finding somewhere to live/a room for a couple of nights a week/...

Got a friend in Brixton who could probably put you up for a couple of nights a week for a couple of weeks -- she tends to have a more-or-less open house.

Also -- my sister, who I'll be seeing tomorrow & could talk to (well -- I plan to talk to her anyway, but I could talk to her about this, specifically, if you like) is planning on moving to a bigger house with her boyfriend, which means she will either be selling or renting out her place -- which is a quite nice 1-bedroom flat in Dalston.

Cheers Ian - that all sounds great. Please do mention it. I'm away for a couple of weeks so will be out of circulation but stuff should be crystallizing over the next month.

In principle, money allowing, I'd consider buying or renting.

I will talk with her. She got it via one of those part-buy, part-rent housing associations, whereby she owned more & more of it over the years -- so it might be possible for you to take it on on the same kind of basis. I'll ask.

The one thing it doesn't have is a parking space, though -- but I imagine you'd be doing the sensible thing in London, and only hiring a car when you had an LRP event to get to.

I managed to find another education quango I've not worked for before - doing public policy intelligence gathering. At least until they are closed down by the Tories.

Or alternatively I have a vague-ish offer from a private sector new media house who need a programme manager.

Not quite sure which yet...
