A bit of good news

Well, that is good news. Very happy that there was a (mostly) positive resolution to this.

Oh, definitely positive, on balance. She was a sweet cat, and I'll admit to being a bit sad to see her go, but she had no interest in getting along with the others. And that's a deal-breaker.

Good news... Sounds like the owner is realizing this is more of a responsibility than they're able to handle. I'm guessing this is why they asked if you wanted to keep her, seeing as you're pretty good with cats already. Not everyone realizes everything involved with keeping a pet until they're suddenly in over their heads.

My supervisor from the paper back in Kirksville volunteers with a rescue and she has three extra furries in her home these days (cats). It takes a big heart to be able to do those things. I'd love to were it not for the allergies and the lack of money.

Actually, the owner has four other cats, and this one doesn't get along with them. It's a familiar-sounding scenario, for some reason. ;-P

Yeah, the allergies are an obstacle. And they're not cheap, these "free" cats.
