[it could be the fact that you're a bit.... intimidating. But he won't tell you that since he asked for anything, and you gave him something.] Thank you-- I'll.... keep that in mind if I can't think of anything else.
I was doing that before, but I was hoping that there was a... better way in speeding up the process. Do you remember what level it is when it learns Tackle?
I don't think so. I mean, not that I know of at least. And... uh. [Pauses, thinking. He hasn't trained his much.] I think it's like 15 or something. I may be wrong though.
[Just sort of sitting there, staring with her Vulpix on her head doing the same thing. She can't give any advice and she has nothing better to say, so the first thing that comes to mind comes out of her mouth.]
Maybe you jinxed it by naming it Takuto. [Looking around a bit.] Speaking of Takuto, where is he?
I think I did. But it's color scheme reminded me of him, I guess I wasn't thinking much when I named it. [he sighs as he runs a hand through his hair.] And I don't know exactly where he is. He mentioned something about running errands...
His... color scheme? Yeah, it does sort of look like him but I think next time you should name your Pokemon for some other reason. [Frowns at the Pokemon in question and sighs.] I wish it would stop flopping around like that; it makes me nervous - like he needs to be in water or something.
I suppose, either way I've learned my lesson in naming these things after my friends. [Sugata turns his attention to the fish in question as well.] At first I was hesitant about training it because of it being a fish... But so far it seems to be enjoying his time out of his pokéball.
I see. I had been doing that before, but I thought there was a better way to speed up the process some. [and he pauses.] How big would be considered decent enough?

[IT WORKS; XANXUS KNOWS THIS FROM EXPERIENCE. Just don't let anyone see you doing it...]

It... That actually works? Wouldn't that make him hate me more in the end?

[Here's something he actually knows!]
Send it out into battle first, but don't let it actually fight. Then just switch it out for a Pokémon who isn't completely useless.
It takes a while, but it'll help until it at least learns Tackle?

Let it share experience with your others; once it evolves, it will become more useful.
Oh, and make sure you're training it somewhere with a decent amount of space - they evolve into something much larger.
