I'd like to take a moment to point out robots. If you don't know about robots now, you don't have firefox 3. I relize no one's perfect. You are not robot. You are but human, and thus error prone. In that light, I'll point out an error prone source of information about robots as well.

I am sick and tired of people who are sick and tired of being told that they are sick and tired. I am certainly not. But I am sick and tired of being told that I am.

What makes me happy at the end of the day is the knowledge that I got some good work done. Not some ephemeral pride in a worldwide entity. I like working at Yahoo, but I like doing my job even more.

I don't get (and never have gotten) pride in a company / school / thing. I'm proud of the work that I myself have done.

I've been reading Burning Chrome by William Gibson, a collection of short stories, including Johnny Mnemonic (a decidedly better written story than the movie was.)

I just finished The Gernsback Continuum, which is about the idea of the future we had back in the 1930's, with huge flying wings, uber streamlined cars, and cities built of chrome ( Read more... )
