Thanks! I love this shawl & wear it a lot!
In line at the caff at school a fellow knitter was admiring it, and I tried to give her the pattern verbally, she looked at me like I was crazy :-P I was like, seriously! It's sooooo easy! The trick is to mad block it so it gets bigger, if you wanted a huge one you could even use 3 skeins.
Much easier that the swallowtail shawl of doom :-P

I'm getting more curious when I see the last row before bind off. I have never tried that, and now I want to.

the trick is to drop the stitches you made with the YO's in the first row.

Just started making this, so I knit the yo I made in the first row until the last row then I let the stitches unravel am I right?

yep. Make sure you are dropping the ones you added in the first row only, otherwise you could end up with problems, if it helps you can add markers. Also if you are knitting in something other than Cash Iroha I would reccommend using a bit more yardage to make sure it blocks large enough.

Love this pattern! I wore mine for the first time tonight, since it was a little cool out tonight after it rained. I haven't blocked mine, though, so it was more of a shoulder shawl than a real shawl. ;) (How short was yours before blocking? ;))

I'm going to make another for my mom, too, who was just diagnosed with breast cancer -- I hope she'll find it useful during her trips to the clinic...

I can't remember how big it was prior to blocking. Definitly a LOT smaller. I think mine got 1/3 to 1/2 bigger in size. I used Noro Cash Iroha, so I can't vouch for the stretchyness of other types of yarn. If you find this one doesn't stretch as big as you'd like it to, you could always knit the next one and just use more yardage... like 1 or 2 more skeins. I'm glad you liked the pattern & I'd love to know how it turned out once blocked :-)

Yeah, I'd have used more yardage on this one if I had had more -- LOL. ;) This was a stashbuster for me. I'm not actually sure how much yarn is in mine (except by weight, which I guess would solve the mystery if I bothered doing the math), since I used two partial balls left over from knitting a pair of cabled worsted socks.
