Oh my gosh, I've been searching desperately for something worthy to do with my 2 skeins of Cash Iroha, and I am delighted to have found this. It's absolutely beautiful, I can't wait to start it!
yep. You are dropping a stitch and all the sts that were below it, this creates the laddering effect you see in the finished product. If you are uncertain about this, try knitting a swatch and trying out the stitch drop so you are confident when you go to drop the sts in the finished product :-)
yarn choices?

I found your pattern from Ravelry and can't wait to try it...can you answer one question, since I'm not familiar with this particular Noro yarn...what is the gauge/weight of the Noro...is it worsted, DK or fingering? Just wondering before I go digging through the stash!

It claims to be a worsted weight yarn, but in fact Noro feels a bit thinner. Something like Patons Classic Wool (a worsted weight also) would be likely too thick for this pattern. Since this design is not very dependant on gauge I wouldn't worry if the weight is not exactly the same. Also, if you aren't using Noro, I would suggest getting double to triple the yardage, as this particular yarn stretches out a lot, but other people have had to use more when substituting yarn. You might even want to check out what others have used as a substitution on Ravelry? Good luck.

When you drop the yo stitch in the last row, is that then dropping all others below that? I'm just trying to wrap my brain around it.
