I just joined the other day and have really been inspired to knit hats and booties to send in. It's well worth checking out.

I was recommended to this community though punk_knitters because of a project I'm getting involved in called Hugs for Homeless Animals. Basically it's about knitting little blankets and pet beds and donating them to participating animal shelters to make the otherwise spartan cages a little more comfortable ( Read more... )

i FINALLY completed my very first chemo cap! (i used that really soft TLC Amore yarn and size 10 1/2 circular / dp needles.) This one goes to my mom, since she begins her third treatment tomorrow afternoon. So, I'm looking through my calander on my desk and I realize the knitalong ends in two days...and I think, well, I only made one chemo cap, let me make another. But now I can't find the one I made. I thought I'd post a picture of the chemo cap I finished knitting this weekend.  It's made with Plymouth Encore yarn.  I think I have time to knit at least one more before the end of the knit-along.

I wasn't planning to do more than one, but as I am trying to perfect this pattern, I seem to be producing hats that are still really cool, but not exacly right. I don't have a webcam or a digital camera, but I am going to put the lot on a cd-rom before our month is up.
